(024) Dr. James Benjamin Harvey came to Australia with his wife in 1839 and was an employee of the South Australian Company from 1839 to 1842. He followed Dr. Lovel Byass as a doctor for the Kingscote settlement on Kangaroo Island. At the same time he was the highest customs official there. In 1839 he was appointed by the governor to Port Lincoln in this role and as postmaster and harbor master.
(025) Charles Christian Dutton was a pastoralist and arrived in South Australia in March 1838 on board the "Abeona". In Adelaide he was clerk of the Supreme Court and worked for a time as sheriff. Near Port Lincoln he ran a cattle station called "Pillaworta" on behalf of Charles Driver. He is believed to have been murdered by natives in 1842 while driving a herd of cattle overland from Port Lincoln to Adelaide.
(026) Bückeburg was the residential town of the Principality of Schaumburg-Lippe from 1807 and is now located about 50 kilometers west of Hanover.
(027) Coffin Bay is located at the southern end of the Eyre Peninsula, approximately 46 kilometers from Port Lincoln.
(030) John Newman Merchant in Adelaide, arrived in Adelaide on May 2, 1838 on board the "Canton" with his wife Josephine and founded, among other things, the shipping agency Newman & Sons.
