(048) Edward John Eyre (1815-1901) was a British explorer in Australia and arrived in Hobart on March 2, 1833. In 1836 he was the first to travel overland to the new colony of South Australia.
(050) Henry Hawson (1791-1849) and his wife Elizabeth came to South Australia on the "Abeona", their own ship, piloted by their son Henry Cowell Hawson in the 1830s and were among the first settlers on the Eyre Peninsula. In addition to the parents, the family consisted of 11 children. He became clerk of the court and postmaster in Port Lincoln.
(057) Edward McEllister (1809 - 1866) was an Irishman and arrived in Adelaide on December 20, 1839 on board the "Delhi". He initially served as a horse-drawn constable in Port Lincoln before moving to Adelaide in 1845 and retiring from the service in 1850.
