(045) Captain John Bishop arrived in Adelaide on January 26, 1839 on board the "Dorset" with his wife Ester Elizabeth née Kemp.
(046) Frau Kemp was the mother-in-law of Captain John Bishop.(047) Mr. Hill (048) Edward John Eyre (1815-1901) was a British explorer in Australia and arrived in Hobart on March 2, 1833. In 1836 he was the first to travel overland to the new colony of South Australia.(049) Miss Kemp was the daughter of Mrs. Kemp (Captain John Bishop's mother-in-law) and ran the Sunday school with her.(050) Henry Hawson (1791-1849) and his wife Elizabeth came to South Australia on the "Abeona", their own ship, piloted by their son Henry Cowell Hawson in the 1830s and were among the first settlers on the Eyre Peninsula. In addition to the parents, the family consisted of 11 children. He became clerk of the court and postmaster in Port Lincoln.(051) This could mean Gregory Hawson who was 17 years old at the time.(052) Hawson's Station also known as "Little Swamp".(053) White's Station (Talalla), located north of Port Lincoln, on the River Tod between Gawler Pond and Long Pond at the foot of the Gawler mountain range.(054) Mount Gawler 554 m high, lies in the Gawler Ranges National Park in South Australia, 350 km northwest of Adelaide.(055) Charles Burton Newenham (1793 - 1887) before becoming government surveyor in Port Lincoln, he was sheriff in Adelaide.(056) Newenham's Station (057) Edward McEllister (1809 - 1866) was an Irishman and arrived in Adelaide on December 20, 1839 on board the "Delhi". He initially served as a horse-drawn constable in Port Lincoln before moving to Adelaide in 1845 and retiring from the service in 1850.(058) Edward [Eduard] Cowell Hawson was the younger brother of Henry Cowell Hawson.
